Here at Springdale Cemetery, our core mission has always been “Celebrating Life. Safeguarding History”. While that commitment remains as steadfast as ever, we are thrilled to introduce a brand-new logo that reflects our continued growth, natural scenery, and enduring dedication to the Peoria community.
Visitors who joined us for the Mausoleum Open House over Memorial Day weekend were the first to catch a glimpse of our new visual identity on display.

The new logo was designed to capture the essence of Springdale. It draws inspiration from our scenic natural beauty and majestic oak trees, while incorporating a bird in flight as a symbol of life and renewal. The design also proudly features our founding year of 1854, celebrating the cemetery’s unique historical roots in the region.
“This new logo represents where we’ve been, but also where we are going,” said Aaron Comte, General Manager of Springdale Cemetery. “While the cemetery will always be a final resting place, it’s also a place brimming with new life and activity. Historically, Springdale was Peoria’s first grand public park and nature preserve—a beautiful and peaceful place where generations of us have come to remember loved ones and honor legacy. Today, it’s still that serene place for reflection, but it’s also a place to enjoy a walk or bike ride, attend our wellness programs like nature walks and yoga sessions, and soak up the local history—all great ways to engage the mind and senses in a deep and meaningful way. Our roots run deep here in Peoria, and we at Springdale want this to be a place our community celebrates our shared heritage—and we feel this new logo represents us well.”
Every day, Springdale Cemetery greets not just the family and friends of those laid to rest here, but also walkers, runners, historians, and naturalists who come to experience our hills, valleys, historic monuments, and scenic vistas. Whether you are here to pay tribute to a loved one, explore Peoria’s rich history, or simply enjoy a peaceful walk through the grounds, we are honored to continue serving you under this new banner.
