And special thanks to City of Peoria, Peoria Park District, and Peoria Public Library staff for their support!

Through your generous contributions during our spring fundraising campaign, we are bringing to life a dignified and lasting memorial for three of Peoria’s local heroes: Captain Zeally Moss, Private William Crow, and Private Levin Powell your sponsorships have directly funded the creation of beautiful bronze interpretive markers, the new flagpole that will forever fly the Betsy Ross flag, aesthetic landscaping, and the perpetual care needed to maintain this site for generations to come.

This historic project, built in celebration of the America 250 anniversary, would not have been possible without your support and the collaborative efforts of the Springdale Historic Preservation Foundation, the Peoria Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

We are endlessly grateful for your commitment to safeguarding our local history and ensuring the courage and service of these men are always remembered.

We look forward to celebrating with all of you at the official public dedication ceremony on Flag Day, June 14, 2026 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

And if you haven’t donated, there’s still time! Click here to submit your online donation.
