Volunteer Monument Restoration Workdays

Calling all volunteers!

Our volunteer workdays this past summer have been a great success. Volunteers from the Peoria Women’s Club, Bradley University, Bradley University Alumni Association, local Scout Troops, Clifton-Larson Allen, Dream Center Peoria and First Ascent Peoria have generously helped us clean and restore several gravesites including those of Lydia Moss Bradley and her family. Building off our initial success, we have onw more volunteer workday coming up. Would you like to help us preserve gravesites at Springdale? We just need your smile, effort and a little elbow grease. You’ll be assigned to one of two crews who will be cleaning or restoring gravesites in the cemetery. Details and a link to register are below.

Workday
Saturday : Oct. 18, 2025 : 9am – Noon
8:30am : Meet at the Volunteer & Maintenance Building for coffee, donuts or bagels.

Volunteer Crews
Reset Crew : raising, leveling and resetting fallen monuments & stones (small – medium size)
Cleaning Crew : gentle cleaning of dirt, moss, algae and stains from older monuments

Supplies Provided
• Eco-friendly biological cleaning solutions
• Buckets & brushes
• Garden tools
• Trash bags

Bring Your Own
PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) that is comfortable to you, such as:
• Work gloves & hat
• Eye protection
• Sunscreen and bug spray
• Water bottle
